Wild Wings Nature Store in Glendale Shopping Center was one of the first specialized bird stores in the area and celebrated its 27th anniversary on September 12. Known for bringing people and nature together, Wild Wings carries a variety of items such as bird houses, birdseed, feeding stations, poles, feeder logs and bird baths. The business carries close to 30 different types of birdseed, some grown and harvested locally, and carries accessories such as clocks, flags, mats, and storage cans.
Located at 12458-C Warwick Boulevard, the store is owned and operated by Jim Hill. Jim’s parents were birders and their influence led to him developing a love for birds at a young age. He eventually joined the Hampton Roads Bird Club and continued learning as much as possible about birds. After being laid off from a local employer, Jim decided to turn his passion for birds into a business.
Wild Wings credits customer relationships with allowing them to have longevity in the business and works hard to educate customers so that they make the best decisions when purchasing. To learn more about Wild Wings Nature Store visit wildwingsnnva.com.
