The Bead Store, a place for People to Share Ideas and Learn New Things

The Bead Store

The Bead Store in historic Hilton Village is a boutique craft store that specializes in beads and custom jewelry. With a large inventory of beads that vary in size, color, shape, and finish, the store’s inventory includes beads such as Czech fire polish, semi-precious, freshwater pearls, Japanese seed, Delica, SuperDuo, and Swarovski crystal. They also carry findings such as charms, buttons, jump rings, and clasp and beading tools including pliers, cutters, burners, and reamers.

The mission of the business is to create an environment for people to share ideas and learn new things. They also offer private classes that teach individuals how to make their own jewelry. All classes are custom and available any day the business is open. Custom jewelry can be created by store personnel and jewelry repair service is offered as well.

Owner and operator Pam Larkin took her first bead class more than 25 years ago and realized she had found her passion. She quickly immersed herself in all things beads and within a year she began teaching beading classes across the peninsula and eventually at The Bead Store. When the previous owner retired in 2010, Pam purchased the store.

The Bead Store’s business model is centered around the importance of community, illustrated by the community work table available to anyone who wants to work on their projects at the store. A 10% military discount is offered, and the store supports various organizations such as the Peninsula SPCA, An Achievable Dream, and the Fraternal Order of Police.

The Bead Store is located at 10371 Warwick Boulevard. To learn more visit beadstore-va.com.
