Newport News Animal Hospital

Newport News Animal Hospital is a full service medical treatment facility for animals located at 11105 Warwick Boulevard, near the Harpersville Road intersection. The practice is owned by Dr. Les Sekut, who is also the primary veterinarian at the Animal Hospital.  Dr. Sekut is a practicing veterinarian and immunopharmacologist who has published multiple papers and periodicals in this field. He and his staff of eight other veterinary professionals are passionate about providing the best care to animals and their owners.

The Newport News Animal Hospital’s wide range of services includes examinations, diagnostic imaging, vaccinations, dental care, surgery, boarding and grooming, and emergency care. The hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art x-ray machines, ultra sound equipment, and other diagnostic instruments. It also has an in-house laboratory that allows for convenient and speedy access to test results. In addition to traditional pets, the Newport News Animal Hospital also provides services to exotic animals such as birds, monkeys, rabbits, and reptiles.

The hospital partners with the SPCA, local rescue groups, and the Peninsula Regional Animal Shelter to provide medical services for animals in their care. The business also donates supplies and services to various other community groups.  In 2015, Newport News Animal Hospital worked closely with the City of Newport News Department of Development in utilizing its Façade Improvement Grant. The grant allowed them to make exterior renovations to the building and parking lot, giving the hospital a new look.
