September 20, 2019The ever-changing lunchtime options at City Center in Newport News will gain a new eatery this spring.
Two deli-style spots closed last year — The Lunch Bell in January 2018 and the Fountain Plaza Cafe last May. This spring, however, Vedeat, a breakfast and lunch restaurant, will open in The Lunch Bell’s former location at 694 Town Center Drive.
Vedeat will emphasize fusion dishes with a southeast Asian influence. Its brunch menu will emphasize healthy, made-from-scratch dishes. Vegetarian and vegan dishes will be joined by more traditional breakfast and lunch items.
Karun and Parju Sapkota, former business partners of the Aago Indian restaurant in Newport News, will run the restaurant. The Sapkotas hope to open Vedeat this month.
Elsewhere in City Center, Salad Creations has been closed on a temporary basis, but is expected to reopen soon.
