August 12, 2024Iron Asylum Warehouse Gym is a family-owned gym that opened its Newport News location in April of 2024 and is located at 369 Chatham Drive. The business is owned and operated by Alvin Lapitan, and his business partners Kyle and Holly Florio.
The owners of Iron Asylum have worked hard to create an impressive business model. They took their business acumen, gained through their success in the mortgage and real estate industry, and merged it with their personal passion for the fitness industry.
In 2015, Iron Asylum opened its first gym in a 4000-square-foot motorcycle garage and within six months had to relocate to a larger facility. Iron Asylum has now expanded to four locations in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, and their newest location in Newport News.
The Newport News gym is 35,000 square feet and includes numerous bench presses, deadlift platforms, squat racks, and a wide assortment of bodybuilding equipment for the upper and lower body. It has 19 staff members that are fully trained and educated to assist patrons with equipment and answer questions that may arise during their workouts. The business is open 24 hours a day and personal trainers also assist with nutrition, lifestyle changes, and specialized training. Physical therapy services are available as well.
Iron Asylum is considered a mega gym with the sole purpose of enhancing the fitness community. Its members and staff have created an inclusive community that is welcoming and promotes fitness regardless of one’s fitness training levels or goals.
