Canon Virginia has been a major manufacturer in Hampton Roads since 1985, and recently continued its growth in Newport News with a new, 700,000 square foot facility that houses Canon’s primary toner cartridge manufacturing operations. Originally announced on May 1, 2008, the new plant is highly-automated and takes advantage of the highly-skilled workforce found in Newport News. Over 1,000 new jobs will be created to support Canon’s expansion by 2012.
