Following on the heels of Forbes Magazine’s No. 1 ranking, CNBC has also designated Virginia as its “Top State for Business.” CNBC’s ranking is based on 40 different measures of competitiveness grouped into 10 categories: cost of doing business, workforce, economy, education, quality of life, technology and innovation, transportation, cost of living, business friendlieness and access to capital. Virginia ranked third under economy, fourth in business friendliness and eighth in workforce. This ranking reinforces that Virginia and Newport News are a great location for any company wishing to maximize its long-term competitive advantage.
