The City’s Department of Development, in conjunction with the Hampton Roads Small Business Development Center (SBDC), is hosting a FREE workshop entitled RETAIL REVIVAL to help small retailers compete with the Big Box Retailers and focus on how independent retailers and restaurants can win and keep customers.
The workshop will be conducted by Mr. Marc Willson, who serves as a national retail and restaurant consultant for the Virginia Small Business Development Center Network. The event is free and open to local restaurant and retail merchants.
During the seminar, Mr. Willson will discuss ways that businesses can attract and keep new customers, the importance of utilizing updated technology and getting customers in the door. The workshop will allow participants to ask questions that are relevant to their specific businesses.
In the afternoon, business owners may set up private appointments to meet with Mr. Willson for one-on-one sessions. During this time, Mr. Willson will either visit the retail or restaurant location or meet the business owner at the location of the morning workshop.
This workshop, which will be held on Wednesday, April 10th starting at 9:00 a.m., is an opportunity to provide informational and consultative experience to local merchants in the retail and restaurant sectors. The workshop will be held in the Community Room inside of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store located at 3101 Jefferson Avenue.
