After spending time as a veterinarian technician, and looking to provide a service connected to her love of dogs, Berenice Moore opened the Rex & Friends Dog Wash in September of 2018 with the support of her family and friends. Rex & Friends Dog Wash is a one-stop shop for dog washing, supplies and grooming, located at 620 Stoney Creek Lane, Unit 19.
The store has three employees, offers both self-service dog washing and full service grooming, and caters to all breeds and sizes of dogs (2lbs – 220 lbs.). Its grooming package offers the use of all holistic shampoos, which can include healing clay, charcoal and blueberry facials. The store has holistic and natural pet food (high quality kibble, dehydrated raw, freeze-dried and raw) treats, bakery section and pet retail that includes leashes and collars. Rex & Friends also sells supplements that provide relief for conditions such as allergies, diabetes and thyroid issues. The store’s associates are Certified Raw Dog Food Nutrition Specialists and provide consults to walk-in customers.
The business has plans to launch an online store that goes live on November 16, open a mobile wash service and expand into other states. Rex & Friends also supports two non-profit rescue organizations, Pit Road Rescue and United En Rescue, which work to connect pet lovers to reputable Rescues and Shelters in their communities.
