At Keland’s Louisiana Seafood Bar & Grill, located at 621 Stoney Creek Lane, diners can experience Southern Louisiana soul, cajun and creole food right here in Newport News. Owner and operator Keland Harrison, a native of Abbeville, Louisiana, began watching his mother, grandmother and other family members cook at a young age. Their techniques and flavorful foods inspired him to begin cooking and by the time he was a teenager he had a true passion for cooking.

After earning a culinary degree and working in various restaurants, Keland decided to venture out and start his own restaurant and share authentic Louisiana style food with the Hampton Roads region. Keland’s Louisiana Seafood Bar & Grill’s menu includes items such as seafood boil, cajun fettuccine, jambalaya, gator bites, seafood gumbo, fried crawfish, catfish and shrimp po boys, etouffee and desserts like “Bourbon St.” bread pudding, sweet potato pie and king funnel cake.

The restaurant opened its doors for business at the end of last year and seats about 160 people with availability for large groups as well as private events. Keland’s offers a variety of theme nights throughout the week such as Bayou Tuesday’s, Wine Down Wednesday’s and Burger Thursday’s.
