Rooms, Blooms and More is a fine home furnishings consignment shop located at 10239 Warwick Blvd. in Hilton Village. The business is owned and operated by the mother-daughter duo of Karan Mulkey and Allison Hund.
Karan, an experienced interior designer, shared her passion with clients by helping them design and plan their spaces. On June 5, 2002, she took her love of interior design a step further by opening Rooms, Blooms and More. The business quickly built a strong customer base and, several years later, moved to a larger location in Hilton Village.
During this time, Allison completed her undergraduate degree at Clemson University in South Carolina and returned to Newport News to help her mother run the business. Allison soon realized she found fulfillment in working with the shop’s customers and contributing to the community where she was raised.
Rooms, Blooms and More offers a collection of original art, quality furniture, and hand-knotted rugs. The shop also carries accessories such as candles, glassware, mirrors, and Imari — Japanese porcelain. Additional offerings include lamps, chandeliers, faux florals, and Fusion Mineral Paint, a paint line designed to update the look of furniture.
The shop has eight employees who work hard to provide an intimate shopping experience. The furnishings and overall look of the store are rotated frequently, allowing patrons to enjoy the evolving inventory.
Over the years, the business has won numerous awards and was recognized by Southern Living magazine as a great place to shop.
