February 9, 2017In 2009, Jason Todd and some of his friends set out to influence people within the community and beyond to live healthier and more active lifestyles. They came together to create Flat-Out Events, a Newport News based race management company, with Todd as president. Starting small with one event, the organization now owns and manages over 15 running events throughout Hampton Roads.
Flat-Out Events puts on numerous running events throughout the year, including the Virginia Running Festival: Massive Medal Half Marathon & Alumni 5K, Christmas Town Dash 8K at Busch Gardens, GameDay 10K /5K, Riverside 5K By the Bay, Chick-fil-A 10K/5K. The City of Newport News contracts with them to help put on the One City Marathon running events. They also support and partner with local charities such as the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank, Toys for Tots, CNU Alumni Society and more.
Flat-Out Events is proud to work alongside the City of Newport News with many events, but especially the One City Marathon. Heading into its third year, the One City Marathon is on track to continue growing, while also contributing to the community through their official race charities.
