Entrepreneurship Hub Ecosystem Excursion

Our Spring 2024 Excursion is right around the corner! Join the William & Mary Entrepreneurship Hub for an inspiring excursion to Virginia Commonwealth University’s 2024 Demo Day! Filled with pitches, guest speakers, and open networking sessions, VCU’s Demo Day is an incredible opportunity to experience RVA’s entrepreneurial community. In addition to attending VCU’s Demo Day, we will be touring the da Vinci Center for Innovation and the SHIFT Retail Lab. Witness firsthand the vibrant entrepreneurial spirit of VCU, showcasing innovative projects and groundbreaking ideas from VCU’s top talent of student and alumni entrepreneurship!

The da Vinci Center for Innovation is prototyping the future of higher education through cross-disciplinary academic, experiential, and experimental learning opportunities! Bridging the classroom and community, the da Vinci Center enables practice and mastery that generates real-world value with their partners, transforming education through real-world applications and impact!

The Shift Retail Lab—winner of the Learning category in Fast Company’s 2023 Innovation By Design Awards—is a real-world space for students to peddle their wares and collect feedback from would-be customers. Since its launch in late 2021, VCU students have used the space to sell everything from vegan jerky to sneakers! Beyond hosting pop-up markets with a variety of vendors, the lab is also available to be rented by individual students and entrepreneurs who want to take it over for a weekend!

Come along on this exhilarating excursion to tour these 2 incredible facilities and witness the coveted 2024 Demo Day at VCU! Spots are limited to 50 (first 25 spots open NOW, next 25 will open soon), so secure yours today! Breakfast and lunch will be provided!

Schedule:

8:30 AM – Meet at the Hub & enjoy breakfast + coffee

9:00 AM – Depart from the Hub

10:00 AM – Arrive at VCU for Demo Day

3:30 PM – Depart from VCU

4:15 PM – Arrive back at the Hub
