January 26, 2026Fulcrum Concepts is a veteran-owned small business that leverages extensive combat experience and advanced engineering capabilities to provide a mission advantage to their government and commercial aerospace customers. The business started in 2008 by Stan Wood, Scott Richman, and Mike Zinanni who are the “brothers in arms” set out to leverage combined years of experience in Army Special Operations Aviation to support and enhance the training of military and law enforcement personnel.
The initial stages of the business focused on services-based offerings but quickly expanded into additional segments, enabling the team to solve problems and create solutions that fit its clients’ needs. Fulcrum’s work focuses on integration and is considered a one-stop shop. They offer a wide range of services, including engineering, certification, technical publications, training, manufacturing, and weaponization.
The company headquarters is located in Mattaponi in King and Queen County, and they recently celebrated the opening of their new machine shop in Newport News. The 7,490-square-foot facility will enhance their in-house fabrication and manufacturing capabilities, provide more direct control over their supply chain, and increase turnaround times for project-specific aerospace components. Fulcrum looks forward to its continued growth as it strengthens its footprint in the region.
