Nail’d iT! is a full-service nail salon and beauty lounge located in the Hilton Shopping Center at 9624 Warwick Blvd. It is owned and operated by the sister duo of Hind and Siham Hammoune. They started the business in January 2015 and look forward to celebrating their 10th anniversary next year.
The Hammounes, natives of Morocco, forged a unique path to building their business. While working in the hospitality industry, Hind became interested in becoming a nail technician. She discussed the newfound interest with her sister and they both completed training programs to become certified nail technicians. After gaining experience working at several local nail shops, a customer suggested that the sisters start their own business.
Nail’d iT! offers basic and specialized nail care. Services include pedicures, manicures, and spa treatments such as Moroccan pedicures, which include mint, eucalyptus, and essential oils. They use high-quality products to ensure the safety of client nail beds. In addition to nail services, the shop also offers waxing, eyelash extensions, Henna Tattoos, and microblading; and hosts group events such as birthday, bridal, and henna parties.
Connecting with the local community is an important part of the Hammoune’s business model. Each summer, the business hosts four high school students who work in the shop. The experience is designed to allow participants to learn about customer service and operating a business while providing an introduction to the nail industry. Nail’d iT! has been the past recipient of the Daily Press Choice Award and Coastal Virginia “Best of” for best Nail Salon on the Peninsula.
