Liebherr Mining Equipment Newport News Announces Expansion

Liebherr Mining Equipment Newport News has announced plans to expand the company’s production facility in Newport News.  The company will invest more than $45 million in upgrades to the existing plant infrastructure, new manufacturing equipment and related construction costs. In conjunction with the announced expansion, Liebherr plans to add 176 new positions over the next four years.

Located in Newport News since the 1970s, Liebherr Mining Equipment manufactures the world’s largest mining dump truck, which is ships to domestic mining operations, as well as international mines in places such as Australia and Chile.
